I don't think it is exactly that easy to just give away internet telephone services (but it very well could be). If it was, why would an aol buy a chunk of NTOP if they could just do it themselves?? They have millions of users to start with.

I expect there will be pricing pressure in the world of internet telephone. It is pretty given that with time the quality of internet voice communications will be as good or better that a phone is today. If the internet can make calls free, than NTOP has to worry, but what are AT&T or MCI going to do?? I think as long as there is a traditional telecom sector, an internet alternative will be cheaper and widely embraced.

THis also makes me wonder how anyone will make money on the net?? If ISPs are going to be free, and telephone is going to be free, then video should be free as well, right. Can anyone charge money for anything but pornography??? I find this amazing, but very likely--if that's the case however, I won't need any money.
