Pulease, Scotty,
(The next sound you hear will be me stepping up on my soapbox for the next sermon-on-the-tube...)
<Hello Bill, 99 IS eerily looking like 98....Could have a big decline next week, then two flat weeks , then another big decline the last week of August....7900 by SEPT?.....I'm going for it...scotty>
1. I am not an investment advisor and all I do is post my opinions which my legal advisor says is okay to do, JUST SO I DON'T INSTRUCT ANYONE HOW TO INVEST!!!
2. My biggest downfall in the past is to swallow a scenario, like "... this year looks eerily like last year..." and not recognize the differences... I would be a millionaire today if I would not get sucked into thinking like that!
3. You MUST do your own homework. I give only my observations, post ideas, put charts on my site etc, etc, etc. But sometimes the things I say have a way of turning sour and if you aren't doing your own homework, you can make disasterous decisions... believe me, I have done the same thing!
4. What ever you go for, it is my (recent) belief you should keep it to yourself. For many reasons. I put general statements on my site, if for no other reason than to show where my investments stand and so people will not think I am saying one thing and doing another.
Well enough for now. Thank you for the post... it brought up important issue for EVERYONE to consider. It is taken me 40 years to get to where I occasionally can semi-predict market action and I always have more to learn. But EVERYONE out there needs to be responsible for their OWN actions, just as Monty said preveiously. Otherwise, the emotional toll can be terrible on you and if you have a vindictive personality, no telling WHO upon you might take out your rage.
So good luck trading and I need to look at Barron's tomorrow BEFORE I can come up with the latest scenario... take it one day at a time!
