CUBA GOLD FIND REPORTED March 26, 1997 By STEVEN CURSON Calgary Sun ÿ A Calgary-based mining company and its partners hoping to strike gold in Cuba have a gleam in their eyes today. ÿ Golden Hill Mining Corp. says the operator of the project, Toronto-based MacDonald Mines Exploration Ltd., has discovered a completely new gold and silver prospect on the jointly-held property in east-central Cuba. ÿ The new discovery, named Zona Campo Santos, is centred 1 km from the peak of Big Golden Hill and located in the Golden Hill fault system. ÿ The company says site geologists are enthusiastic about the find but it cautions "further work is required in order to fully evaluate its potential." ÿ MacDonald Mines and Golden Hill Mining are partnered in the project with GeoMinera S.A., a Cuban state agency.
