We don't disagree CD,my growling bear phrase is ONLY,in the sense that Triff sees,and you also--I do see a rip-roaring rally after a major correction---but I do see a DOW of 9100 as quite possible--so let's say my growling bear will be a shorterm bear. That is why I am spending much of my time just trying to define the good stocks to buy when a true correction is complete. I am just 2 years at this,so I am backchecking the work of those of long experience. I do now subscribe to the Gilder Report now and this is a sampling on his when he issued a buy and hold call on a number of stocks with their price at the time of recommendation. ATHM 7/31/97(19.50) AMCC 7/31/98(22.68) QCOM 9/24/96(38.75) SUNW 8/13/96(13.75) TXN 11/7/96(23.75) CIEN10/9/98(8.58) UNPH(now with a new ticker)6/27/97( 29.375) he actually does not have one loser,but his ATML has struggled,making it attractive I think. Triff this is my watch list thus far,in part,ASDV TERN NOPT GNSS ZRAN PNJA PDYN GSPN GSTRF ADI GALT GBLX SOFN HSAC ATHM AOL INKT and so on,let's keep trying to pin this down--there is money to be made when the time comes:) me thinks.Max
