I don't see how the government could effectively break up MSFT. Possibly they could legally force MSFT to split into two or more separate companies. But Bill Gates would still own such a large percentage of all resulting companies, that he would still have effective control of all. And I really don't see how the government can force him to sell shares in one of the companies it creates by a breakup. Seems that would be unconstitutional. And if Bill Gates had effective control of all entities resulting from the breakup, then what's the point?
