Jim There needs to be all the factors in place before MCOM starts blowing their horn (my opinion). I share your opinion. I ordered Ricochet service for myself yesterday. In the course of researching the product, I pulled up the list of authorized dealers from the Ricochet website ... metricom.com ... and went to visit one. They told me they terminated their dealer arrangement about 2 years ago because the service was terrible - no support and broken Ricochet promises regarding infrastructure development. They said that to their knowledge, all the dealers in the area had terminated with the exception of one (I didn't check this out, just repeating what they said). On the other hand, the sentiment among current users seems very positive. So Ricochet has to overcome the bad impressions of early experiences and I'm sure they are sensitive to repeating this mistake. There is almost no advertising going on in this area and I just get the gut feeling this is intentional at this point. Re the individual/business discussion that has been going on here, the three test cities always get mentioned, but it is also noteworthy that service is available in several airports outside the 3 major cities (this would support early emphasis on business users). metricom.com Finally, an article regarding rollout of a competitive service: seattlep-i.com PM
