I just don't see any sort of downside for softie. Technology advances are going to render any DoJ decision moot anyway, BG will still have majoriety control, and if divided, the two (or more) would still figure out a way to add value to each of their product offerings because neither (none) of them would, for a moment, stand still. The competitors would just have more players to watch. It could get real confusing for them. Rich stockholders is the right word for the result, and I'm all for that.

Try this: Gates decides to give away NT in exchange for a piece of the transactions made across it. Whose nightmare would that move be? Long list.
