CBQ Names Tony Benton Chief Technology Officer
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 26, 1999--CBQ Inc. (OTC BB: CBQI - news) Friday announced that it has named Tony Benton Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Benton is currently serving as Vice President/CTO of Reliance Technologies Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of CBQ. In 1993, Benton founded JAB Computer Consulting (JAB) to take advantage of the advent of the World Wide Web and Internet growth.
JAB worked with clients such as Hilton Hotel Reservations, NU-Skin, Central and Southwest Corp. to design and implement Web-based solutions providing significant value and investment.
Reliance Technologies is the result of the merger of JAB and TopherNet Inc. Greg Allen, currently serving as President/CEO of Reliance Technologies, founded TopherNet in 1995 as a high-end Internet provider, providing quality access and Web hosting to individual and corporate clients in North Texas.
This merger brought together the talents and infrastructure of TopherNet's Internet services and JAB's sophisticated Web/software solutions, especially in the area of e-commerce.
Reliance Technologies' customer base of over 725 clients includes United Media Features of New York (Dilbert and Snoopy e-commerce sites), Snelling Personnel Services, Benchmark Electronics, and Delco-Remy, as well as many individual accounts.
