I just watched the late Friday coverage on CNBC/MSNBC (Brian Williams) to catch up on the latest re: yesterday's traumatic events that unfolded in Atlanta... very sad to say the least.

Perhaps we, the daytradering community at large, should do something in response to this one deranged individual's act, to materially demonstrate that we daytraders are good citizens too, and to directly reach out to those effected by this sort of thing. Does anyone have a suggestion? I think the guy (one of the executives) at Momentum Securities (Jim ?) who organized the daytraders lobby might be a good focal point (e.g. to collect some funds) for that sort of thing... something should be done by daytraders around the country, in response to this -- don't you think?

There is some pretty good reporting coming out on it now - after 24 hours, not all of it is the kneejerk "it's because of the daytrading being out of control and in need of regulation" variety.

Pardon me if this sentiment is redundant, I have been backlogged and have ~75 posts from this thread to catch up with this weekend...
