<<<<<<<The Kirk group recently purchased 2 million Scios shares at prices from $3.63 a share to $4.84 a share. The
group now holds a 5.2% stake in Scios.

Federal Filings reported Kirk has indicated his interest to Scios' management regarding a joint venture,
marketing arrangement and a business combination.

Any potential transaction would "unlikely" result in a change of control of Scios, according to Kirk.>>>>>>>>

This has been reported elsewhere. My point in posting, is it represents an example of "how it used to be done". Perhaps Kirk will go away or perhaps sell out to a real interested party. The only thing one can bet on is that each side will say nice things about the other for some time. Management will listen to him polietly even if they fear him. However unlikely this type of move on a biotech was supposed to be, it has just happened and it is unlikely that we have heard the last of it.
