Blankmind OT--I am not aware of any massive school shooting in Saskatchawan.
Just to clarify
People do have guns in certain part of Canada. Generally in areas that are not densely populated, people tend to buy hunting rifles. It is still difficult for them to get the license. These people have a legitimate purpose for these weapons and actually use them for this purpose. Secondly, i don't believe one can buy the high tech semi-automatic weapons up here.

In the towns and cities which are densely populated, i have not come across anyone who owns a gun. I am pretty certain that if i applied for a license, i won't get a gun in this city.
Americans are told that guns cannot be allowed into Canada right at the border.

Another thing i would point out is that white collar workers just don't guns at all up here. So if someone is frusterated (like that fellow in Atlanta), he may go and try to beat up people but not shoot them. Of course a group of people would be able to take him down if he is not holding a gun. I am pretty sure that we would have the same kinds of incidents up here if people had guns here. Right now, these occurences are very rare. I am not saying that such a person won't be able to find a gun in Canada. I am only stating that it would be very difficult for him to get one. He could have done the exact same here but the probability of him actually being able to carry out such acts would be significantly reduced.

BTW--I basically trust the people who own guns legally in Canada. These people use their guns for hunting. However, it is hard to justify that anyone in a Canadian city could need a gun. I am just hoping that they increase the penalties for those who are found with such weapons.
