OT PMS Witch. Thanks for the excellent analysis. I found the crime rate comparisons in Canada/US/Britian very fascinating. I had no hard stats but felt that countries with stricter gun laws would have higher rates of lessor crimes. I am one who accept higher rates of lessor crimes than high rates of serious crimes. I would also think that high rates of murder would also make societies more paranoid---wanting to go out and buy better guns. That is what i sense happening in the US. You are right. Gotta find a way to cure society's insanity or temporary insanity. That seems to be the root cause of all ours and other countries' problems. BTW---i am not sure about police budgetary problems. I am reasonably certain that the average police office does not want society to be well armed. It would make their job difficult---more fear about their own lives while on the job might affect their ability to carry out their duties. Right now I think they do a great job.
