Yes the studies I cite did take into account "illegal gun owners" i.e. convicted felons in possession of a firearm, and the statistics for legal gun owners are valid.

You seem to miss the point in issue though. The point being that any new gun control laws will only affect law abiding citizens. All of the current gun control laws, especially the scores of laws enacted under the Clinton administration have had absolutely no effect in curbing crime or gun violence while at the same time they have encroached on the Constitutional rights of law abiding citizens. Crime statistics verify this. The only true trend in crime has been a decrease in person to person and personal property crimes in states and municipalities where concealed carry of firearms is allowed to law abiding citizens and an increase in those crimes where carry of firearms is severely limited or banned altogether.

Any further (unconstitutional) laws restricting the right to bear arms for law abiding citizens will have absolutely no effect on criminals other than to give them a freer hand in making victims of the rest of us. No one should be surprised at this turn of events, as it is not the intent of Clinton and Co. to fight crime and violence. No, they view most crime as just another form of "income redistribution" to make up by the inequities forced on the poor by the greedy rich. Rather their intent is to subdue the masses and make them more amenable to their vision of a society where central government control is the be-all and end-all of our existence, because after all, only the elite like him and his really know how we should live our lives. After all it takes a village to raise our children because that way they can be taught the proper philosophies.

To abolish any part of the Bill of Rights is to abolish it all and in doing so, abolishing any legal government in this country.

I don't think so.
