Dear Skeeter bug, you are painting a partial picture only.
(1) As I mentioned, the OEM long term contract prices are around $ 5.50-5.75 but spot prices are around 6.00-6.25 and heading towards 7.
What I wrote is no different than Micron official said.
(2) You are omitting a big part of equation: markedly reduced cost of manufacturing DRAM. In 1995, cost of manufacturing 16 MB DRAM was around $ 15. today, the cost of manufacturing 64 MB DRAM is only $ 3 plus $ 1 more, if depreciation and other overheads are counted.

What will happen in long term, no one can predict. But fundamentals are in place for strong recovery in DRAM prices. Each $ 1 increase in DRAM price will mean $ 1 per share more in Micron profits.

Skeeter, only an objective evaluation and courage to accept the truth will restore your credibility. We all are wrong at some point and should have courage to admit.
