Rants and rants and raves from he who a follower of the Linus.

SGI counts on Linux for new servers

news.com

So What!!! hmmm.... Now this will not mean that all kinds of engineering and other speciality apps get ported to Linux. hmmm... An OS Hundreds of dollars cheaper per License than other commercial OSes. hmmm.... If a piece of software is ported to flavor A of Linux, it will be real difficult to port to flavor B.

This is true for the technically challenged masochists who live by the NT virus. This is true because typing the four letters "make" is an alien concept for those in the borg zone.

SGI another Linux Company. Applix a Linux/Unix company that can port apps to every OS.
