Hi Burt

Intel's video phone announcement is reported in today's NY Times - Business Section D3. Evidently they discussed it at the analysts meeting in NYC. It requires a Pentium 133MHz chip, a "special" 28.8KB modem and some software. Compaq will be shipping all its new machines video-phone ready in time for the Christmas season. Presumably, other manufacturers will follow suit. According to the article, only $200 to $300 over the cost of the computer will be required (for the camera) in order to transmit video images of the caller. The announcement sounded as if this is NEW. It uses standard phone lines!
