I am a lurker.I am also long 1500 shares with a basis of 30.5. I have recently moved from boston to san diego so i decided to open a netbank account to serve as my primary checking vehicle. For what it is worth I am prepared to deposit a large amount into the account. They dont know that because they never asked. In any event I applied online on July20. On 7/27 I checked the website and it told me I had applied but nothing else had been done from what i could see. I called customer service the next day and waited 15 minutes listening to music and promotions. The representative was pleasant enough and told me my package had been sent out to me that very day. My first concern is why did it take a week to respond in any way to my application. I have been told that when I receive the package and fill out a signature card it will still take over 2 weeks for me to receive checks and an atm card. Most disturbing is that there is no way to make a deposit other than through the mail. I know this is part of the deal but I think for them to become a phenomenon they must figure out a way to get accounts up and running as fast as any bank (within 2-3 days) There is no reason I shouldnt have my checks overnite within 2 or 3 days either. Finally, and I dont know how they can do this but they need to figure out a way that we can make deposits anywhere (meaning any bank atm). Just some thoughts..I am awaiting the second phase of the account opening process and will let you know how things go.
