Now the developer has decided that's it's time to develop, to gain income from the property. Which is his right, and which we always in the back of our minds understood.

So they are planning on making money without message boards??

Why did the developer buy a first class message board if he did not want to develop a message board? Is it some kind of initial draw to their site? Hang on to the SI name and move forward with a financial site without first class message boards? The boards played a role in the initial development but now are delegated to second class position? Have they found a better way to draw hits??

I think they are in for a surprise. There are a lot of financial sites and IMO SI's new site is not head and shoulders above the crowd. SI is the message boards. Everything else is or at least used to be secondary.

The favorite improvements in the beta site could have been made in the Classic. Viewing multiple posts could have..should have.. been implemented in Classic a long time ago. Advanced search could have..should have... been implemented in Classic a long time ago. Advanced message filing could have..should have..been implemented a long time ago.

The membership understands this is about money. What Go2net does not seem to understand is that the money is in the messages...more messages..more money. It is obvious to me that there is not a lot of support for the beta site. Bryan's 90 percent support statement now looks like wishful thinking.

I do not know if Go2net considers the message boards a priority. If they do not then move full speed ahead with what ever they are doing with the beta site. If they do consider the boards money makers then IMO they should reconsider what they are doing.

I do not agree with the 10 user development concept..too many people. We already have the success model for SI so why change it? One or two guys with a vision and the sense to understand the value of the membership is the winning solution. Why did development stagnate after Go2net took over? IMO too many people making decisions.

I find it hard to believe that Brad or Jeff was the driving force behind the beta. Hey guys..lets revamp our creation and start again from scratch! We just came up with a better idea..!!

IMO there are too many users that have expressed concerns about beta. Is what seems like a majority really that far off base??
