hui zhou-
Casinos in North Korea. What some people won't do for a buck. But I think there is something to the "People are quite amazed and fascinated by North Korea"- after all, it's the world's last Stalinist state. Hope all these revelers at the Seaview don't have their good times marred by the sight of starving children- oh, but that's right, Kim Jong-Il's regime has its way of keeping such unpleasantries out of sight.
I'd lay a small wager that you purloined your post from some source, and failed to so much as credit it when you plagiarized it for posting. Hey- I could be wrong, so let me not rush to judgement. So in case the writing is yours, allow me to offer the following comment:
<<After decades of communist mismanagement, North Korea is trying to rebuild its economy and woo foreign investors with tax cuts ...>>
Hmmm, almost makes North Korea sound Reganesque. But saying North Korea suffered mismanagement is akin to saying Mao's Great Leap Forward suffered from management oversight. No, General Motors has suffered mismanagement. The people of North Korea have been under the jackboot of one of the most weird thugs and one of the most corrosively corrupt totalitarian regimes ever to infest the earth. In the last several years, as many as two million have died of starvation and the effects of malnutrition. Not to mention that uttering thoughts inconvenient to the government has been a ticket to your own demise.
I can see, if you perceive North Korea as having suffered only from "mismanagement", why you might consider the government of the PRC to be positively enlightened.
