Unifab International, Inc (UFAB) sees Earnings Improving
Following a surprising 4Q/99 disappointment (first loss since going public), UFAB posted $.02 for 1Q/00 possibly signaling better things ahead. As usual, with this Company, the analysts were dead wrong and are obviously not listening to the Company who had forecasted a flat 1Q. With acquisitions and continuing internal development the Company is preparing for vigorous growth in the not distant future and in my opinion the growth potential is grossly undervalued by the Market. The 4Q loss reversed share price trend; but, I strongly believe the upward trend will recommence from current levels in the near future, FWIW............
"Our first quarter operating results reflect the current state of the industry," said Dailey J. Berard, UNIFAB International, Inc. President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board. "Bidding activity remains strong and we have been able to maintain backlog, however, our results have been impacted by the delay in contract awards. The long-term fundamentals of the offshore drilling business remain positive. We are beginning to see rig utilization increase, which should result in increased demand for our services. Our focus remains growth through acquisition, alliance and internal investment and development." investor.msn.com
