Mike and all,

Hi, I am a new shareholder of RIS,(1000 shares) and would like to ask the thread for any information they are willing to share concerning Y2K and how it is going to affect the natural gas industry in general, and RIS specifically. If this has been discussed in the past I would appreciate any links to the information.

This may seem like pretty basic stuff to some of you, but I am a novice concerning the following questions: (as it relates to RIS, UP and Pennaco)

What energy source is used to power the gathering, distribution, and pumping stations and/or pipelines? In other words, if the electrical power grid goes down periodically for short periods of time, how does this affect the distribution of natural gas to end customers?

Are they vulnerable in other areas to a loss of electricity, such as computerized controls etc.?

Thanks in advance for any information you can relate.

Keith
