wanmore money flow on NASD also is showing it is still positive, and advance decliners were plus side on NYSE Friday so I myself am taking a pre-emptive hunch by going 80% cash,if I was sure I would go 100%cash.
But as Fleckenstein says, some one will call the top,and that someone will be just that person making the right guess at the right time, and we simply will not not know the top until it is well behind us.
I am myself interested in what a top-notch money manager said on
CNBC friday(Leuwenwold fund sp?) when asked about this volitile market, and he said "WallSteet has lost control of the market,it is now in the hands of Maine street"
The contrarian view is since so many are now going to cash now is the time to get ready to buy.
I myself don't know if the top is behind us,but any rally to a new top would just be one more stalling off of the inevitable,as I do believe a MAJOR correction is in the cards between now and November.
I simply want to enjoy the rest of the summer and not try to time
an up and down market right now,as to do timing now is a from the bell to the ball job right now.
I like a stock called Paradyne,I saw it open at 43 friday and sold (for a loss at 42) watched it go to 41 and run at the close to 44.5
Those buying at 44 may see a run to 55 on monday, they could also see
run down to 35--this wild choppiness we are having now is my major reason for going heavily to cash.
This choppiness Im think will end with one sudden rush staight south.
These are of course just guesses.
As Fleckenstein's motto is so is mine "Often wrong, never in doubt" Max90
