Mark -- I want to find a way to say this without being insulting -- although it is a challenge. The 'great shape' of the American economy is the problem here 'guy'. It is in such great shape that we spend more than we earn, save nothing and get others to invest $300 billion a year to offset our $300 billion per year trade deficit, thus saving our dollar from the fate all currencies suffer when you run a trade deficit (it drives the currency down in value in case you didn't know). Now, if the foreigners don't pump $300 billion in investment into our markets this year the dollar will go down -- do you have a spare light bulb? -- cause guess what, they are not playing the game anymore, the dollar is going down, and foreigners do not want to see their portfolios shrink so they are leaving. This in turn triggers a series of derivative-related unwindings, etc. -- I won't bore you with the details. Mark -- I have been patient with you.
