ps - for the uninitiated, the term 'fist' connotes one's manual abilities one possess in order to send Morse code by hand.

Everyone who sends morse has their own "fist" signature, more or less like a voice print, or a finger print.

The trained ear of a veteran Ham can learn to discern one sender out of hundreds on a crowded channel, simply by recognizing the manner in which their idiosyncratic utterances are detected in their code element timings and durations.

Some might call this: "Listening to the technology." -grn-
