Richard, <<is the tide turning?>> thanks for your post that CNN will
finally start reporting the real story about gold. I'am sure that CNN
has knowned prior to the formation of GATA about the abuse of the
gold market, but in today's news environment its more important for
a news organization to be correct in the sense that giving out objective
facts is not the way its now done, but to now only give out facts that
the audience will "feel good about" as an after effect, or if the facts is
of a bad nature then its ok to tell the audience only under the strick
conditions being meet that the news organization will not be associated
with the bad news. In the case of telling the public that gold has been
incorrectly controled thru dry objective facts of recent history has two
no no's for the news group. First, its too dry and not entertaining enough
so that a "feel good" will not be obtained by the viewer, and this could
lower the rating and commerical fees. Second, if the public heard only
from, say CNN, that gold was connected to wrong doing, and later as in
soon for us on this thread, the gold issue explodes into bad times for
a lot of regular folks, then the connection to bad times and CNN might
be made, whereas the other news networks would be "free" of the
connection, and just maybe views will not watch CNN because it was
the news source that "introduced" the viewers to later bad news. Sick
and poor and stupid thoughts, but news managers are cowards when
rating are the focus.

Along this line of thought I can conclude that CNN now has solid and
strong information that the controling of gold for these past years is
very soon going to explode, and now CNN can "scoop" the other news
organizations like ABC, NBC and CBS in telling the public that gold
may now be a good investment. CNN might include information that
some of this control was illegal if they can quote outside sources that
have already made public the information, like GATA I hope. I hope
that CNN will take a chance and associate itself with the bearer of
bad news in that bad times will soon be here. They might if they can
give it not as a prediction, but as a warning, and after it comes true then
their rating will increase as views will see a place to get early warnings.
Again for me, not what a news source should be, but I hope they do it.
