Contigo Software Strengthens Security for Internet Events With Integrated HTTPS Support August 2, 1999 08:42 AM SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 1999--
Contigo Becomes First Web Conferencing Developer to Offer 100 Percent
Data Security With RSA's BSAFE(R) SSL-J Encryption Software
Contigo Software Inc., the leading provider of Web-based conferencing and collaboration products for sales, marketing and training today announced that Contigo will integrate RSA Data Security Inc.'s BSAFE(R) SSL-J encryption software into its award-winning Web conferencing solution, the Internet Conferencing System (ICS).
Available immediately, and offered as an upgrade to Contigo's existing customers, Contigo's ICS 4.0 will integrate HTTPS support with its standard feature set to ensure complete log-in to log-out security for all data conferencing activities. The RSA implementation serves to strengthen the ICS's already strong security capabilities and makes Contigo the first Web conferencing vendor to ensure that confidential information uploaded to the Web for the use in E-conference presentations will be shielded from prying eyes.
"It is critical for our customers to be able to present sensitive investor, product and business materials over the Internet in real-time," said Charles Keiper, vice president of sales and marketing for Contigo Software. "The integration of RSA encryption software into the ICS completely shuts the door on unauthorized access to client events and further solidifies our position as the leading provider of secure Web conferencing solutions."
Contigo's ICS is a comprehensive, cross-platform, virtual conferencing solution that reduces the necessity of seminar, sales, and training-related business travel -- without adding strain on over-burdened IS departments. The ICS allows non-technical users to arrange all aspects of virtual conference events including creation, promotion, delivery and follow-up. Contigo becomes the only vendor to enable its service partners to offer a completely secure conferencing solution to their customer base via the HTTPS protocol.
"Contigo's integration of RSA's BSAFE(R) SSL-J software into its Internet conferencing products and services allows it to offer its customers protection against eavesdropping, tampering and forgery," said Scott Schnell, senior vice president of marketing for RSA and Security Dynamics Technologies. "We are pleased to be able to assist Contigo in furthering security for its Web conferencing."
