By the way, I take no offense, since obviously we differ, and you must regard it in some light, but consider: What you quoted was, in a certain sense, purely descriptive. The whole premise is that it is pieced together from the camcorder and the film, mostly from the camcorder. I and my family are not unique in getting motion sickness: there was a warning in the lobby of the theater...unfortunately, I did not read it until we were leaving. The reason for the motion sickness is the amateurishness of the shooting, the way in which the camcorder is jiggled and allowed to tape ground and so forth. There was a scenario, I suppose, but I have read that it was basically improvised, so there was, indeed, strictly speaking no script. There is barely any acting, and what there is is mainly wooden, because there are no truly developed dramatic scenes. There is little doubt that without the premise that it was to have a documentary quality, it would be judged a shoddy film. The more interesting question, to me, is whether or not you can mount a credible defense.....But that is, of course, up to you.... |
