I will have to leave that to a shrink to answer or possibly a SSI disability lawyer...maybe there is one lurking as there are many many lawyers on SI..some who never even come out of the closet and disclose that they are lawyers but I am pretty sure that if one is lying and convinces him/herself that the lie is the truth...there is a psychological term for it that is indicative of poor mental health I guess depending on how often they do it or something
