To answer Blue's question "why does everyone hate it [the new SI]?" would take several hours. People have different reasons. In my case, I will hate it until the Go2Net team restores the features they have eliminated from SI (e.g., various search functions, the Clubhouses). In the process of trying to turn SI into a one-stop-shopping financial site, the engineering team has emasculated the messaging system, which is what makes (or used to make) SI unique.
Now -- Ptoo-ey! ('scuse me agin, Ma'am) -- some of you Rambiites have signed Lather's petition. I urge those of you who have not to at least take a look at it.

As you will see, Lather is not asking that the New SI be dumped in favor of the Old -- or Classic -- SI. All he is asking is that Classic SI not be taken out and shot, as it is scheduled to be; and that each subscriber have the option of using one or the other site.
