Hello Folks: To my surprise the Montreal exchange is open today. Even more surprising is that on checking the trading there I discovered that Midland crossed 50,000 shares of Falconbridge at the open. Quite interesting when you consider that: (1) Falconbridge is the operator on the Opawica project and owner of the nearby Kidd Creek mine and smelter, and (2) over $1,100,000 of Falconbridge stock traded on a holiday when only 1,500 shares of Inco and 6,000 of Noranda have traded so far (these are both base metal producers with comparable stock prices). From the trading pattern I suspect that there is a Midland office in Timmins. Can someone confirm this for me? Just-G? My prediction for tomorrow is that there will be a halt in trading of Opawica shares early in the day. Then watch out! Midas
