OK Dan. I recalled something like 45 and 14 as your two purchase prices, but it turns out to be 13 and 42 with a sell point higher. But why would you sell the stock you bought at 13 less than a year ago, when you could have held it a few more months and paid the lower tax rate. Assuming that you will have paid the highest marginal tax rate on your holdings of about 40% and assuming that had you held your stock until October (a year after you purchased your shares at 13), your effective reentry point at break even is now at 38--a full twelve points lower than where it is at today. Worse yet. If repurchase and then resell within the year, you will have paid 40% taxes on your gains twice rather than 20% just one time.
