Dave, that's true. Ane ENTU has some level of confidence and trust.
The key word for secure transactions/email/etc is TRUST. How much of that do you think CUST can generate when it changes it's business plan and name every so often. This is so doomed it's not even debatable.
They can't even hope for a takeover because security requires a trusted THIRD party. For example, if MSFT purchased VRSN (it already invested in them) then how much interest would AOL/Netscape (VRSNs biggest revenur generator, in terms of webserver certs) show in using the new MSFT/VRSN cert? Right. There's only a couple of companies that have somewhat universal trust and respectability whereby their competitors would use those products. Maybe ATT. Maybe IBM. Even then, it would be less desireable than using the trusted independent third party, like an independent VRSN. Doesn't look good for CUST, IMO!
