From the SITUATION ALERT issued this morning:

"Only resource stocks that are involved in major mineral discoveries, with money on hand to exploit them, or companies that are generating growth in revenues, will escape the downward pressure on the resource sector.

A TUG OF WAR BETWEEN FEAR AND GREED WILL RESULT IN UNUSUAL VOLATILITY. IN THIS ENVIRONMENT, DECISIONS SHOULD NOT BE BASED ENTIRELY ON WHAT SHOULD OCCUR BUT ON WHAT IS HAPPENING."

"The latest Bre-x news has given many forward looking investors an opportunity to buy value-added stocks at attractive prices."

The amount of money that will be spent by Canadian junior mining stocks on exploration projects in 1997 is unprecedented. Mines are discovered by talented people and money. Both are in abundance amongst today's experienced juniors. Large discoveries will be made over the next few years and the majors will once again be positioning themselves for control. The market will soon realize this and confidence will slowly be restored. I for one will remember this week as an exceptional buying opportunity.
