If so, would you please cite the source of the August 16 release date?
The articles I saw all said that the MAJC chip is still a paper design
and won't be out until next year. To announce a chip one day and then release it two weeks later...it's basically impossible. It would mean they'd secretly been testing it for months. That kind of activity is very difficult to shield from the press.

What you may have heard is that the specification for the chip will be released in around that timeframe, so that people can start thinking about how to use it in products. That would be reasonable.
