Hello

Yet another confirmation of how Oracle Sedona and Sedona Geo are not related: this from Kurt Buehler - a significant figure in the Open GIS consortium.

Mike,

I called Oracle to get the following information:

Sedona is the name of Oracle's object tools environment and has absolutely nothing to do with Sedona Geoservices.

Sedona Geoservices IS part of the Oracle Business Alliance and is a
partner in the Spatial Solution Center (a way of saying that they are beta testers for Oracle Spatial Data Option).

Hope this helps. I find it interesting that you couldn't get this
information by contacting either Sedona Geoservices or Oracle. Can you enlighten me?

Kurt Buehler

So.... I wrote him back and told him I was looking for disclaimers anywhere there might not be vested interests. Also asked him for a few lines re: Sedona significance in GIS developments.

Spoke with Oracle also - got run around everywhere - someone else had just called the PR guy right before me looking for the Sedona connection. I chased around the country - ended in Texas - where I have an e-mail into a guy named Dave Henderson - who supposedly can shed light onto the stuff Kurt Buehler says is what Oracle and Sedona Geo are doing together - we'll see.

Mike up North
