I would say that this shop owner displayed an incredible amount of self-control and restraint. Granted, events such as these occur very rapidly, but I've always felt that if anyone ever leveled a firearm in my general direction, they had better make damn sure that they are willing to pull the trigger. The temptation to permanently rid society of one more dangerous criminal would have been over-powering for me.
