<<What part of the gorge did you fish?>> There is an access road that the dept. of water uses for their own purposes. It is closed to other traffic but one can walk down it to the stream .And it runs along side the stream in an up stream direction.I walk down about 1/4 mile [it is about one mile long ] then there is a very faint trail down the cliffs created by some professional guides I'm told.I go down this trail to the bottom then fish downstream [I hate fishing downstream btw ] for about 1/4 mile . At this stage the river becomes impassable. That is water too deep and fast for wading and the banks too steep for passing. Can't go upstream because of similar conditions. This of course keeps those that go down the road to the bottom from coming downstream to "my" section of water as well.I don't know of any other access points but this section of river [down stream from the road ] is about five miles long so there may be others.I intend to search for'em.
<<Was it crowded?>> Needless to say I have never seen any one down stream from the road.
<<I fished the Farmington in Ct.>> How'd you do ? There is some nice resident Brownies in many eastern rivers that are able to resist much fishing pressure.
<<. It was very cool with steam rising off the river in the morning.>> Yeah....I can just see it.... A bad day's fishing is still a good day...
