Regarding todays activities:. I have talked to cube today regarding the recent problems in the video cd market. Unfortunatly in cube style the company really has no answer other then to refer to the April 10th reporting date. Of interest was that the company did acknowledge that their chips were in exceptional demand, but that there was a problem with the "loaders" keeping up w/demand. This in effect may have an effect on a short term basis, but will correct itself as soon as supply keeps up with demand. If this is true then Needham was irresponsible in relaying the information to the public. this would not be the first time. Knocking a company in early quarters only to repurchase down the line is a needham specialty. That is neither here nor there. Hopefully Jim Burke will get on the horn and either quell these suspicions or we as shareholders continue this vascillation in the 20's. My main concern is w/DVD which is really ramping up. the entertainment industry has fallen in love with the format. Many that are on the sidelines will enter the market at the first chance money is to be made. But they will not fall into a beta or laser disc problem. But there is the shift in sentiment over the direction and manner dvd will be implemented. Once again long term we look decent but short term the company is not helping any of us -news reports are expected that is why the market hasnt reacted positivly to the trail of video cd news by cube;what needs to be done are the subtle hints of optimism rather then their tight lips after analysts questions and concerns!
