The more I learn about Chinese history, the more amazed I am at their ability to survive and prosper. It's hard to imagine what advances they might have made if they had the benefit of benign leadership such as we've had in the west. Tough people. Absolutely concur!!! Incredible people who have endured incredible oppression from corrupt leadership, past and present. One day they will be free to pursue individual opportunity and political choice without an intolerable political and military hammer ready to crush them the moment they get out of line or threaten the power of the communist party.
