RTev (& Jeff and Bryan, if you're there), These problems were solved years ago. There's a reason all newspapers have the same basic format. All of the papers knew how to solve readability problems when they went online, because the issues of readability, white space and basic user interface are the same on paper as on screen. These problems were solved years ago by other people, and by Jeff & Brad in 1995-1996. See, e.g., The Washington Post washingtonpost.com The New York Times nytimes.com The Boston Globe boston.com The Cleveland Plain Dealer cleveland.com The San Francisco Chronicle sfgate.com The Birmingham News al.com The Houston Chronicle chron.com All are perfectly capable of bombarding me with advertisements while still giving me readable material.
