Re: "As I see it, you are questioning the mere existence of the K7"

Now you're being silly. I am fully aware that there is a K7 and that it is a fine design. Furthermore I am aware that AMD has been able to produce a limited number of samples for evaluation. These samples perform very well, in fact they perform better than Intel's counterparts in most benchmarks. What you and the others disciples don't seem to realize is that this doesn't constitute a product. A product is something that can be manufactured in volume. There is no evidence that a product exists, or will exist in the foreseeable future. If you are thrilled by foils then you must love the MIA-thlon because it really excels there, no question about it. But if you are interested in shipping systems and corporate financial reports then you will be sorry to hear that from that perspective there is no Athlon. You can't buy one. I can't buy one. Nobody can buy one because it isn't out there. That will change some day but that day isn't here yet and there is no information to say when that day will come. That's what's got these AMD devotees so upset. Can't blame 'em.

Till then.... MIA-thlon....missing in action
