Older than Dirt

Not that I am old enough to remember crank telephones in usage although I feel that old at times, I am old enough to remember finding a crank telephone in my grandmothers storage shed. For the younger whippersnappers, I am talking about the the phones that you 'cranked' to generate a charge for communication....as opposed to some cheap, sleazy broker calling to ask you to invest even more money that he can lose....not that I would mention Druss and Boiler Room Discount Brokerage in such a case.
I have fond memories of crank telephones and cats. It was a much better experience than tape of any kind and cats. I found it curious that a cat could lay on a pair of wires in complete comfort....and then become so energized...even bowel-wise...with a crank of the handle. It was a matter of some interest since the parents were due home at any moment. Due to this episode, I find the commercial that involves 'your cats urinary health' mildly amusing. If this is a problem, I can suggest a treatment. I can suggest treatment for cat constipation, too. My laundry knowledge seems to be lacking if the parents response was any indication...(I needed a little more lead time).
Crank telephones, also, had a use as an equalizer when one has an older brother. I won't go into applications since it requires that one be faster than the older brother....and the ability to stay out of 'pounding' range of the older brother for an extended period of time...

No idea where this came from other than minor ramblings...
Be Well,
lee
