Charles, I don't really know the difference in Diesel fuels, but as one who has pulled an RV some 100,000 miles, I can say that it appears to me that truckers prefer the red #2 diesel. I do. When I get low sulphur diesel, my truck does not run as well - in fact I have learned to buy a can of sulphur additive to splash into the tank. I say this with no knowledge of what grade diesel grno produces, and certainly I raise no question that low sulphur diesel is not saleable. But I do question whether any official would be checking on the grade of diesel that a station sells. Perhaps a company employee, but not a governmental official, for there is no regulation that I know about which one grade in deference to the other.
