I expect a Ph.D. to display a little more dilligence when examining a subject. "First to market"? Not hardly. This speaks about the quality of Janney Montgomery Scott.

Janney Montgomery Scott analyst Tomas Isakowitz, Ph.D., initiates coverage
of VerticalNet Inc. (VERT) with an ACCUMULATE rating. The analyst believes that "the company's management can successfully steer VerticalNet's expansion over the next few years from $3.1 million in revenue in 1998 to $70 million in 2001."

According to Isakowitz, the company has the added advantage of being first
to market, making it the only recognizable portal in each of its covered
industries. VerticalNet deploys vertical Internet portal sites and enables
business-to-business e-commerce.
