Kenneth - Barnes goes X-dividend (without div) tomorrow. In order for the corporate records to be updated in a timely fashion on the split, the ex-div date is established. I believe that on Monday 3/31 the stock may also begin to trade on a when-issued basis ( you can either buy split or pre-split shares). The actual date that you will receive the 200% stock distribution (another bookeeping proceedure) is April 25,1997. BTW Barnes' annual stockholders' meeting is being held next Wednesday in Hartford, CT and I will be in attendance. At that meeting, or actually at the Director's meeting that follows the ann. mtg.,the BOD will vote to increase the dividend for 2Q to $0.1667/sh.on the new split shares. Just in case you missed it 'B" closed up 1/8 today with the Dow down 140.
