Your suggestion of racism on the part of those who handled Lee's case is utterly unsupported.
If you had bothered to read my post, you would know that I made no suggestion of racism. I said that the government, by choosing to place a high publicity profile on the case, has boxed itself into a position where it must either release further information or be suspected of racism.
I also said that I don't think this was very smart.
If the government does not want to tell us why it thinks the man was spying, it should have handled the case quietly and discreetly.
this time he was likely playing his own political agenda to the detriment of the security of the United States.
If those opposing Clinton made this case a media football for political reasons, knowing that it would be more effective to handle it discreetly, the same charge could be leveled at them.
And the FBI and DISA don't rush to that judgement either. What makes you think they do??
I don't think they do. I think that until they tell us why they think what they think, it will be very easy for people to accuse them of racism, and difficult for them to defend themselves against the charge. Not many people are willing to assume that the government wouldn't be out to get the guy unless they had a good reason. Nor should they be. If the government embarks on a public crusade against anyone, anywhere, they have to back it up with evidence. If they don't want to release the evidence, they shouldn't embark on a public crusade. |
