Dear Mephisto: The soft coated wheaten terrier is first soft coated and non shedding, secondly its the color of Wheat (blondish) when mature and its a terrier from Ireland. Typical male weighs about 35 pounds. Since my roses are all in large pots even a Male would have a STRETCH-haha peeing in my roses. haha. Yes, there is a National Breeders Assn and Yes, I have contacted them. I received a great deal of information but absolutely NO HELP in locating an available pup. I called several Breeders in S. Fla. and never even got a reply call (they all seem to have answering machines) even called a Judge of that Breed and also NO return call. Really kind of irritating. The dog is relatively rare, VERY expensive and hard to find. 3 of my neighbors have one, one bought in Paris, France, one in Arizona and one in San Diego. Maybe I am trying to do the impossible by wanting one bred here in Fla. But I am going to a dog show in September down here and hope to meet some Breeders there. This is a high maintence dog as needs much brushing, trimming and all but if the job is done correctly they are beautiful. This will be my new hobby if I am ever successful. JDN
