Intranets.com Partners With Business Service and Content Providers
Joins Forces with NewsEdge, Digital River, GoTo.com and Stockpoint
BOSTON, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Intranets.com (www.intranets.com), developer of the world's first free intranet, today announced strategic partnerships with NewsEdge Corporation (Nasdaq: NEWZ - news), Digital River (Nasdaq: DRIV - news), GoTo.com (Nasdaq: GOTO - news) and Stockpoint to deliver online business services and content to customer intranets. By joining forces, the companies present a comprehensive and customizable intranet solution that simplifies purchasing goods and services, searching for information on the Internet and tailoring intranet news feeds.
''Intranets.com is pleased to be partnering with best of breed providers in major content and service categories. We strive to offer our members content and services that will increase the overall value of their intranets,'' said Rick Faulk, Vice President of Marketing at Intranets.com . ''These resources will add to Intranets.com's existing array of intranet applications and services found in a single integrated interface.''
Value of Intranet is Increased With Personalized Content and Searching
The partnership with NewsEdge enables Intranets.com to deliver customized industry-specific news created from customer information gathered during registration. Users can customize the news based on individual preferences.
''We are pleased to work with Intranets.com to integrate news and information into smaller company intranets,'' said NewsEdge President and COO Cliff Pollan. ''Intranets.com is helping smaller businesses to operate and compete more effectively by providing them with many of the same services available in larger organizations.''
Intranets.com also has partnered with Stockpoint to build a personal finance area that offers its intranet users features such as portfolios, stock quotes, mutual fund data and company profiles.
''The Stockpoint partnership will provide Intranets.com members with financial content and analytic tools optimized for the interactive investing environment,'' said John Gadomski, Director of Sales at Stockpoint. ''Members will now be able to access both their corporate and personal information from their company intranet.''
As a GoTo.com Custom Integrated Search affiliate, Intranets.com enables small and medium sized businesses to provide their employees with ''search the Web'' functionality at their Intranets.com sites. The venture with GoTo allows Intranets.com to integrate a GoTo search console into the look, feel and navigation of its site. Moreover, because Intranets.com will incorporate GoTo's search results into their site, Intranets.com will generate more targeted banner impressions.
''Intranets.com member employees will benefit from GoTo.com search because they will be able to find the web sites that most interest them without leaving their intranet. GoTo.com brings thousands of relevant web sites - from the largest sites to a wide variety of rich, small and medium sized sites - right to their doorstep. We're excited for the opportunity to extend our brand to this audience,'' said Jeffrey Brewer, Chief Executive Officer of GoTo.com.
Communities Now Benefit From Intranet Purchases
Intranets.com offers all community members the opportunity to participate in the ''IntranetsRewards'' program. This free program rewards Intranets.com members with financial incentives for business goods and services purchased through their Intranets.com intranets.
This new program will aggregate purchasing from all the Intranets.com subscribers and provide members with discounts on the kinds of goods and services that every organization needs. Software, printing, office supplies and travel are just a few examples of the areas in which members will realize benefits.
''Because the small business community is fragmented, small businesses typically do not receive the same discounts as larger organizations,'' said Jay Gordon, Vice President of Business Development at ''Intranets.com. ''We can now aggregate purchasing from all the Intranets.com subscribers and provide members with significant discounts on goods and services, such as software and office supplies.''
The first implementation of the IntranetsRewards discount program is an agreement Intranets.com has inked with Digital River. Digital River will host the Intranets.com Software Store, which will provide more than 100,000 downloadable and packaged software applications and digital products.
''The Intranets.com business model, based on providing a free intranet,is completely unique and has tremendous potential in the expanding Internet marketplace,'' said Joel Ronning, CEO of Digital River. ''By partnering with Intranets.com, we are able to provide its members with the broadest selection of software titles for both physical and electronic distribution. In particular, we are offering Intranets.com's small business clients the software titles that provide the necessary tools for any business to succeed.''
