Chop, perhaps I can help. I'm assuming that you want to to track a position. Try this:

1. Create a quote sheet (the " button).
2. Rename the quote sheet to "Positions" by right-clicking anywhere in the quote sheet except the column headers and choose, "Edit Title..."
3. Add these fields to the quote sheet: Symbol, Basis, Last, Profit/Loss and Return. To add the field, right click on a column header. In the right-click mini-menu, "Symbol" is under the "Info" menu, "Last" is under the "Value" menu and the other three are under the "Position" menu. (There are other position fields there that you can add, if you want to.)
4. Add a symbol to the quote sheet.
5. With the cursor over the Basis, Profit/Loss or Return cell to the right of the symbol, Right-Click to bring up the mini-menu.
6. In the mini-menu, select, "Edit Position". This only appears if you right-clicked over a position cell (such as Basis, Return, etc.)
7. Enter position data and click "OK".

It should now track your position.

Regarding steps 6 and 7, you can speed this up by double-clicking over the sell instead of right-clicking and selecting the menu. Using this, I can enter a position accurately in 10-15 seconds.

Note - currently I use QCharts for analysis and charting and CyberCorp's CyberX (instead of QCharts) to track my positions. Besides being a very good order entry tool, CyberX tracks your positions automatically. If you are in the market for a new, direct-entry broker, you may want to consider CyberCorp/CyberX. At $14.95 per trade, it's inexpensive, fast and has pretty good integration with QCharts.

FYI, I don't work for either company.

Regards,

Dan.
