Pat,

I have not "checked in" to this thread in some time, but I wanted to let you know I unloaded my Amati shares a few weeks back. It is not that I think Amati is a bad company. I used to see it as a long term hold, but my fundamental position on DMT technology in general has changed. I no longer believe that DMT is the right technology for real world xDSL applications. A friend showed my a well written paper outlining CAP technology versus DMT. I had never quite seen it from that perspective, but it shed new light. Additionally, every xDSL contact I have in the industry does not believe DMT will be forthcoming anytime soon. I now think CAP will win by getting mass deployed first, less power consumption, and better real world performance. I hate to have sold my Amati stock, but I honestly feel Amati is not headed anywhere long term.

I will probably get flamed for these comments in view of the mostly positive emotions for this stock. However, what I learned has totally changed my views. I wish you the best of luck and hope for your sake that my beliefs prove you right and me wrong. You have to believe in the technology to believe in the future of the company. I lost my foundation beliefs. If anything changes, I'll hop on board again.

Mike
